Raj Mukherji is a former CEO of an Internet consulting and hosting company that was acquired by another technology company. A former Executive Vice President of Government Affairs for a federal contractor, Raj has advised local, state, and federal political campaigns and has been named in Politicker's annual Power List as one of New Jersey's "100 most politically influential personalities." He is also a partner in various real estate projects and has been designated Downtown Redeveloper by municipalities.
Raj also previously served as Director of Technology and Vice Chairman of the Publius Group, which owned and operated New Jersey's most heavily trafficked political news website until its sale to a New York-based newspaper.
Raj joined the U.S. Marines as a reservist two weeks after September 11th, at the age of 17, and served in military intelligence. Profiled in a Business News NJ cover story following the attacks of 9/11 and by The Star-Ledger for his early accomplishments, Raj and his companies have appeared in various publications as well as on national television. He has been a guest of Steve Adubato on Caucus NJ on PBS, interviewed by Bobby Rivers on FOX’s Good Day NY, and appeared on NBC, NJN, News12 NJ, AVS TV, TV Asia, RU-TV, JCTV Channel One, CN8, and TV35, and he starred in an episode of MTV’s Room Raiders.
Raj was appointed by then-U.S. Senator Jon Corzine to his Military Academy Board in 2003. In 2004, then-Governor McGreevey appointed him to the Governor's Council on Volunteerism and Community Service. He was appointed in 2004 by the Superior Court, and re-appointed in 2007, a member of the Juvenile Conference Committee. His leadership and community service efforts have been recognized as a recipient of the Daniel J. O’Hara Memorial Service Award and as an honoree of a local chapter of Optimist International. He was also selected to participate in the Junior Summit international forum conducted by the Media Laboratory at M.I.T.
Raj co-founded a nonprofit provider of new construction and home conversions for low-income disabled veterans, which earned him acclaim from The Courier Times. Raj is also a proud member of the American League of Lobbyists, Association of Former Intelligence Officers, Marine Corps Intelligence Association, National Military Intelligence Association, Civil Affairs Association (Life Member), Marine Corps League, and Marine Corps Association.
Raj earned an individualized masters with a focus on national security from the University of Pennsylvania with a GPA of 3.93 and a Bachelor of Arts from Thomas Edison State College. A fan of music and theater, Raj has performed both on- and off-Broadway in numerous musicals and shows.
